About Wendy and The Blog

Hi, I’m Wendy

Wendy Batten from frontporchmercantile.com

Wendy is a dreamer and a doer, an artist and shop owner, has a passion for all things old, anything with history or a story and a desire to save and re-love beautiful items. She has been a DIY’er for many years and strongly believes in the adage of a collected not decorated home. She loves decor that is perfectly imperfect, aged, chippy and beautifully re-loved.

Wendy is currently renovating her home and her cottage by the sea. Always in DIY mode!

Wendy has been painting for years and followed her bliss and opened her first shop Front Porch Mercantile in December 2013 in Moncton NB and hasn’t looked back.  She has expanded her services to Lunenburg Nova Scotia and loves teaching and creating with her clients. She enjoys spending her days painting and teaching paint workshops in her sunny creative retail and paint workshop.

Her hope is to inspire you and help you make your house a home, one project at a time, you can do it!

Wendy is proud to be one of only 5 Certified Retailer Trainers in North America for Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint and a Regional Developer for The Fat Paint Company!

Wendy LOVES her Canadian Made eco friendly paint brands!

There is no big “front porch” at the shop but you’ll still get the front porch service, cuz thats how we roll

Thanks so much for stopping in, I hope you will stick around, leave us a comment if you can or drop into the workshop Wendy would love to meet you!
