Easy Holiday DIY – Stencil Fun
Hi Friends, thanks for following along with our 12 Days of Easy Holiday DIY, we’ve had so many viewers and lots of fun feedback. Thanks for watching, all days of the live videos can be seen on our FB page. Today we stencil!
And I will start off by saying it was so busy in the shop, I didn’t get finished pretty staged pictures, and I half of these blocks as soon as we finished painting them – the power of live Facebook :)
On Day 5, my assistant Lise and I showed you how to stencil up some last minute cute gifts.
Pop over to our Facebook page to see some tips from Lise.
Supplies Needed to Stencil Scrap Wood

Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint
Stencils – we sell stencils in both our locations or you can order in Canada from here
Stencil Brush – we sell stencil brushes in our Moncton Store, or here is similar
Paper Towel
Top Coat – Hemp Oil or Wax
How To Stencil Scrap Wood
Step 1 – Mix your Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint to your desired paint or stain thinness, the beauty of milk paint is you can mix if for full coverage, or add a little water and make it thinner like stain.
Step 2 – using your stencil or a piece or word from a stencil, dip your brush in the paint then take it ALL off on your paper towel. You want a dry brush.
Step 3 – holding your stencil firmly down, pounce or swirl your brush lightly over your stencil
Step 4 – once dry, you can sand and distress a little, then add some MMS Furniture Wax or MMS Hemp Oil to liven up your piece.
Step 5 – stand back and admire your cute little Holiday blocks.
See, easy peasy!
Join us Sunday on Facebook for Day 6, we will be decoupaging some pretty Holiday blocks!
How is your Holiday decor and gift prep going?
Cheers,
Wendy
