How to Paint an Olympic Ring Sign

olympic rings how toWell hello there! Today was SUPER busy at the shop but I did take some time after we closed to have a little Olympic fun!

I am not a sports junkie, and I am not 100% behind the Sochi 2014 Olympics, but I am a mom of an athlete, and if she was there I would want the world to support her, and I am a proud Canadian, so I am 100% behind our Canadian athletes and support them all the way! Go Canada Go! I decided to work on a window display for Valentines Day, Spring (because the Ground Hog said it WAS coming early)  and the Olympics! I made a couple of cute Valentines signs last week (and have some fun Valentines packages ready for giving to your sweetheart).

Here is the package ready for your sweetheart (or for you to come buy for yourself). There are even a few chocolates in there! sweetheart package

Today I made an Olympic Ring sign.

It was easy peasy.

Want to make one yourself? Go find a squar-ish board. I’ll wait while you go look in the garage and basement.

Got it? Ok Follow these easy steps using your Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint (ok – you can use what ever paint you have I just happen to have all the colours I needed right here) I traced the circles using the lid of a yoghurt container (very fancy and technical tools here) step 1 Olympic Sign making an Olympic sign making an olympic ring sign

I did freehand the Go Canada (can ya tell???) I know, messy and yucky, I should stick to stencils and vinyl, but I was anxious to finish, and as you know, we are cool with imperfect when it doesn’t have to be perfect. So I am leaving it and going with it! I did distress it a little and didn’t top coat it as it will not get any wear! From a distance in the shop window it will be fine..right? making an Olympic sign

And done… Go Canada Go

All total this took me about 30-45 minutes!

Now it’s your turn! Are you a fan of the Olympics? If you paint a sign , dress a window or get crafty  with paints for the Olympics  I’d love for you to share on my Facebook  page and/or use #FPMOlympicFun!

Thanks for popping in today – I am always glad when visit, truly! Leave me a comment if you can, I’d love to hear from you!

  1. This is such a cute idea, Wendy! Although, I’ll admit, I’m cheering for team USA! Regardless of who “your team” is, the olympics are SO fun to watch. So glad they’ve finally started! :)
