TOP 10 POSTS OF THE YEAR

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a lovely holiday.

We were blessed with out first grandchild on Dec 23rd, what a gift! I will admit, with the holidays and with sweet new Ava Rose to love, I have not been doing a lot of painting. But I’m itching to get back at it!

With the New Year approaching (can you believe it’s almost 2016?!) I thought I’d have a look and see what my most viewed posts of 2015 were. I ran the numbers and WOW, I was a little surprised. Lots of paint related favourites of course, but I have been surprised by your interest in our little cottage by the sea as well!

Here’s the top 10

Painted Vintage Tunk! Oh how I loved this makeover. An old trunk gets a wonderful new look with a little FAT Paint. This trunk had fabric, wood, metal and leather all painted with one swoop of my brush.

How To Paint Wicker. This post is not very old, but it’s had a lot of traffic. I’ve had a lot of questions about how its holding up, and it’s just perfect. I am looking forward to rocking little Ava in this chair a lot.

Our Christmas Home Tour. I was a little nervous to share bits of our imperfect home, it’s not fancy, or staged, or professional decorated or photographed. I was overwhelmed by the number of views and shares and the kind words you shared. I try to keep it real with you all. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing other East Coast bloggers homes as well, it is so wonderful to see everyone’s Christmas decor.

How To Prep Your Furniture for Painting. I get asked lots of questions daily about how to prep. This post almost went viral. I will be sharing lots more painting tips in 2016.

How To Paint Leather wow, this post went a little nutso. I am pretty sure everyone thinks I am crazy. I painted this in January and as of today its holding up fine. I did re wax it at one point in September as our big Dobermans decided they liked the sunshine too and used it a lot. It got a bit marked up, but a wipe of wax and it was fine.

Our Cottage Reno. Our number one post of the year. Honestly, this is just a few pictures about the cottage. I hope to post more projects in the Spring and lots of before and afters. We did so many projects, used so much paint and had so much fun. We were BLOWN away by the interest in our little cottage by the sea and by how much love we’ve had for our paints in Lunenburg. We were fully booked all Summer, Fall and into December (can you believe that?) We fully renovated, decorated and prepped this cottage. Labour of love though.

So there you go. My top 10.

I hope at least one of these posts inspired you to update, create or re love a piece of furniture.

Here’s to a great 2016 of creative fun!

Cheers,

Wendy
